General cycling tips and exercises

Do you have your sights set on our Florida Keys Challenge? Boston to New York? Costa Rica? Or Yosemite to San Francisco? We hope so. Any of these will be an experience of a lifetime that will get you outside, serve up a lot of fun, and enable you to do a lot of good. Each one of these amazing rides will have different course profiles and elements you will face. Your specific training suggestions will be included in the Trip Planner of the specific challenge you sign up for.

To get a jumpstart on your overall fitness, your general training program should focus on several dimensions: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength/endurance, and flexibility.

All three must be progressively challenged to ensure you’re ready, but your starting point depends on your current conditioning, your previous riding experience, and your available time.
